WAU MIGA PRO Portable Oral Irrigator

Beauty, Personal Care & HygienePersonal CareBath & BodyOral Care Devices

An editorial profile of WAU’s MIGA PRO oral irrigator, covering the nine mode-and-speed combinations and the 133-901 kPa pressure range it publishes, its UV reservoir sterilisation, and the per-mode runtimes WAU states.

At a glance

MIGA PRO is the best-documented product in this batch on the specification that actually defines its category. It publishes 133 to 901 kPa across nine settings, and breaks runtime out per mode - 140, 90 and 59 minutes - rather than quoting the flattering number and leaving the others implied. Both are the opposite of what the rest of this range does, and both are what make it comparable to anything else on the market. The UV sterilisation is where it slips: "destroying up to 99% of bacteria" is a numeric claim, and there is no wavelength, no cycle time and no test behind it, so it is the one headline here that cannot be checked. The "personal home dentist" framing is the manufacturer’s, and periodontal disease belongs with a dentist rather than a device. A South African price, availability and warranty position still need to be established.

Useful for
Readers comparing irrigators on published water pressure and realistic per-mode runtime.
Not ideal for
Anyone managing a diagnosed gum condition, or needing the UV claim substantiated.

South African market
verified — checked 2026-09-09. Checked against WAU Global's own published pages on 2026-09-09. DELIVERY: ships to most countries worldwide; South Africa appears in the site's country/region selector. International delivery quoted at 7-14 business days, after 1-2 business days' processing, via UPS, FedEx, DHL or USPS at WAU's discretion. Orders over USD 50 ship free; otherwise the charge is shown only at checkout. CURRENCY: the selector lists 'South Africa (USD $)' - WAU prices South African buyers in US dollars and does not offer rand. TAX AND DUTIES - WAU'S PAGES CONFLICT: the Shipping Policy states 'For the tax: WAU Global Will pay for the tax, we will not charge the tax fee from our customers', while the Terms of Service state 'posted prices do not include taxes, shipping, handling, customs or import charges' and that the customer 'will pay ... all applicable taxes'. Both cannot hold for an import into South Africa. Recorded as unresolved; the profile tells readers to expect to pay South African VAT, customs duty and courier clearance fees, which is the Terms position and the safe assumption. Written confirmation is being sought. RETURNS: 30 days from receipt, unused and undamaged, in original packaging with proof of purchase. The buyer must contact info@wauglobal.com first - 'items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted'. WAU says it will send a return shipping label if the return is accepted, but does not state whether that label is prepaid for international customers; returning a device from South Africa could be costly, so this is recorded as an open ambiguity rather than assumed either way. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of inspection. WARRANTY: WAU's FAQ says 'most products come with a manufacturer's warranty. Check the product description for details.' None of the 23 WAU product descriptions read for this catalogue states a warranty duration or its coverage, so at product level the warranty terms are a checked absence. WAU separately undertakes to replace a defective product free of charge, but does not say who pays international shipping, customs or VAT on a warranty claim.
Safety documentation
verified — checked 2026-09-09. Official WAU user guide (MIGA Pro Portable Water Flosser, model RM-MINI018) obtained and read 2026-09-09 from wau.ru; English section used. The model number matches this record's sourceSku. Specifications given as three modes each with three speeds plus a sterilisation mode, 180 ml tank, 2200 mAh, three nozzles including periodontal and orthodontic. PRECAUTIONS as written - 'if you have dental conditions, use this device under the supervision of a dentist'. 'Do not use the device if there are visible wounds on the tongue or inside the mouth.' 'If prescribed antibiotics for treatment, do not use this device unless specifically advised by your doctor.' Do not aim the water jet at the tongue, ears or other parts of the body, as the pressure may cause injury, and specifically not into the ears. Remove all oral jewellery before use. Do not fill the tank with iodine, bleach, water-insoluble aromatic oils, toothpaste, salt or hard mouthwash tablets, and check that any mouthwash used does not contain isopropyl myristate. Keep out of reach of children under 3. Do not run the device with an empty tank, and do not use water above 40 C. The operating section also states that mild bleeding during the first few cleanings is normal and should disappear within one week, and that if it persists beyond two weeks the user should stop and consult a dentist. Unlike the MIGA Black manual, this one states the device can be used with mouthwash or other products recommended by a dentist. Warranty stated as 1 year from date of purchase.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • The 133-901 kPa range is published, which makes the nine settings comparable against other brands
  • Runtime is broken out per mode rather than quoted as a single best-case number
  • The advice to start soft on sensitive gums, and to dilute mouthwash, is practical and specific

Cons

  • UV sterilisation is claimed to destroy up to 99% of bacteria with no wavelength, cycle time or test cited
  • No battery capacity or IP rating for a cordless device used over a basin
  • No contraindications, on a device whose top pressure is high enough to warrant them

Manufacturer documentation
WAU user guide for model RM-MINI018, obtained 9 September 2026 from WAU's Russian site: https://wau.ru/upload/iblock/9c1/xq2mbpbd9j5u9rohceuq01skdp0vs9vr.pdf . It is more specific than the English product listing, and this profile's figures and cautions are taken from it where the two differ.

How to use

WAU says to use it twice a day after brushing, to start on soft at minimum speed especially with sensitive gums, to use the orthodontic nozzle after meals with braces, and to add mouthwash only diluted per its own instructions. Follow the instructions supplied with the device.

Limitations and cautions

PowderedPurple has not tested this device and does not present it as a treatment for gum disease or any dental condition. WAU's own user manual (model RM-MINI018) says to use it under a dentist's supervision if you have any dental condition, not to use it if you have visible wounds on your tongue or inside your mouth, and - notably - not to use it at all if you have been prescribed antibiotics for treatment unless your doctor specifically advises it. Remove oral jewellery first. Never aim the jet at your tongue, into your ears or at any other part of the body: WAU warns the pressure can cause injury. Start on the gentlest setting; WAU notes that mild bleeding in the first few uses is normal and should stop within a week, and that bleeding lasting beyond two weeks means stopping and seeing a dentist. Keep out of reach of children under three. A water flosser is an addition to brushing and cleaning between teeth, not a replacement for either, and not a substitute for seeing a dentist.

Product information from the source

The manufacturer specification describes this product as follows. These are source statements, not PowderedPurple conclusions, and they have not been independently verified.

  • WAU calls MIGA PRO "your personal home dentist" and says it "professionally cleans, removes plaque and food debris from hard-to-reach places, gently massages gums, and cares for orthodontic appliances".
  • It says the reservoir UV lamp "automatically disinfects the internal cavity of the device, destroying up to 99% of bacteria", and lists results including "plaque removal and tartar prevention", "improved blood circulation and gum health" and "prevention of inflammation and periodontal diseases".
  • These are the manufacturer’s own statements, quoted from its product page. WAU cites no supporting evidence and PowderedPurple has not verified them. Periodontal disease is a clinical condition, this device is not presented here as a treatment for it or as a substitute for dental care, and "your personal home dentist" is the manufacturer’s phrase, not a description of what the device does. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
