Disclosure: Some PowderedPurple visuals and demonstration characters are created or enhanced using artificial intelligence. These characters are illustrative and are not real customers, healthcare professionals or product testers. AI-generated scenes do not constitute personal-use testimonials or evidence of product performance.
Where AI is used
- Illustrative and demonstration visuals. Still images and short video scenes used to illustrate a technique, a routine or a product category may be generated or enhanced with AI.
- Demonstration characters. Some tutorial and social videos feature a synthetic on-screen character. That character is a presenter device for explaining information. It is not a real person, not a PowderedPurple employee, and not a customer.
- Drafting assistance. AI tools may assist with drafting, structuring or editing written content. All published editorial content is reviewed by the publisher, and factual claims, sources and cautions are checked before publication.
What AI content on this site never does
PowderedPurple does not use AI-generated people or content to do any of the following, on this website or on any PowderedPurple social channel:
- Claim to have personally used, bought or tested a product
- Report personal results, outcomes or before-and-after effects
- Give a testimonial, endorsement or personal recommendation
- Appear to be a real customer, reviewer, influencer or PowderedPurple employee
- Appear to be a doctor, pharmacist, dietitian or other healthcare professional
- Demonstrate a result that did not occur
- Generate reviews, ratings or customer sentiment
Customer reviews and ratings are never generated. Where reader or customer sentiment is summarised on a product page, it is described as coming from the retailer's own listing and is attributed as such.
Labelling on video and social content
Where a video features an AI-generated character or scene that could otherwise be read as a real endorsement, the final exported file must show this label for at least two seconds before the first product claim:

Every realistic AI presenter must open with: AI-generated demonstration — not a customer testimonial. Where a video promotes or links to an affiliate product, it must also show before any claim: Disclosure: Affiliate promotion. This video uses an AI-generated presenter. PowderedPurple may earn a commission from purchases. The same relationship is spoken where narration makes the recommendation. Videos that do not meet these export requirements are not published.
Labels beside branded lifestyle composites
Realistic AI lifestyle scenes that include or reference a named product carry this adjacent label on the page: AI-generated editorial illustration — not a customer testimonial or product-use claim. The scene is illustrative context only; it is not evidence that a person bought, used, liked or benefited from the product. Earlier reference-based product illustrations have been withdrawn. Current catalogue graphics are generic, unbranded and do not depict the product.
Why this matters
Regulators and affiliate networks treat synthetic personas that appear to be real consumers, and AI-generated reviews or testimonials, as deceptive. The FTC's endorsement guidance requires that an endorsement reflect the genuine experience of a real endorser. A generated character has no experience to reflect, so PowderedPurple does not present one as if it had.
Health and wellness content
The rule is strictest here. An AI character in a supplement, skincare or wellness video may explain how to read a label, what an ingredient is, or how a routine is carried out. It may not say a product worked for it, imply an outcome, or suggest a health benefit that the product's own labelling does not support.
