Research with clear boundaries.
The PowderedPurple Editorial Team is responsible for the research, sourcing and editorial standards applied to everything published on this site, under the accountability of PowderedPurple (Pty) Ltd.
Role
The PowderedPurple Editorial Team takes responsibility for what is published here. The team reads labels, manufacturer specifications and published public-health guidance carefully, then records what the evidence supports and where it remains limited.
Responsible publisher: PowderedPurple (Pty) Ltd. The byline “PowderedPurple Editorial Team” identifies the editorial authorship; the company is accountable for publication, corrections and the standards described on this page.
The team is not a doctor, pharmacist, dietitian or nutritionist. Nothing published here is medical advice. Personal health decisions should be discussed with a qualified professional.
How the team researches an article
- Start from public-health sources, not the product. For any ingredient, the team begins with what NCCIH, MedlinePlus, LiverTox or the equivalent body actually publishes, before looking at what anyone is selling.
- Write the evidence boundary first. Before drafting, the team records what can responsibly be claimed. The article then has to live inside it.
- Attach a source to every material claim. Dosage, absorption, safety, interactions, pregnancy and expected outcomes each get a citation, not a general reading list at the foot of the page.
- Check every link resolves. Citations are verified with a live request before publication. A reference that 404s is not a reference.
- State what the evidence does not show. Every health guide carries an explicit section on this. It is usually the most useful part.
- Set a review date. Health guidance changes. Each article carries a last-reviewed and a next-review date, and gets re-checked on that schedule.
What the team will not do
- Claim a product treats, cures or prevents anything.
- Use “reviewed by” unless an appropriately qualified person actually reviewed the article. The health guides currently state that clinical review is pending, because it is.
- Imply the team has tested or personally used a product when it has not.
- Publish an AI-generated or AI-altered image of branded packaging.
- Present a manufacturer’s claim as the team’s own conclusion.
Where AI is used, and where it is not
PowderedPurple uses AI tools in production, and says so openly on the AI content disclosure page. AI assists with drafting, structuring and visual production. It does not decide what a source says, and it is never used to generate or alter an image of branded packaging. Editorial responsibility remains with the PowderedPurple Editorial Team regardless of which tools produced the first draft.
